About James Davy

James was organ scholar at Portsmouth Cathedral in 1999, and is now Director of Music at Chelmsford Cathedral. James was a chorister at Southwell Minster and a church organist before becoming organ scholar of Portsmouth, Durham and St Albans Cathedrals, and also Assistant Organist at Winchester College. A published composer, James also has a broad experience of recording and broadcasting, working on BBC Radios 2, 3 & 4, BBC TV and ITV.

Access through the main doors. There is a ‘build-on’ teaching model of the Cathedral - helpful for our visually impaired visitors. A ‘loop’ system for services is available for visitors with hearing impairment. There is an (aided) disabled person’s lavatory. Wheelchair users have access to all parts of the Cathedral.
